Recalled products due to potential salmonella risk

The following products are being recalled because they could be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children and others with weakened immune systems:

Blue Line Foodservice Distribution is recalling Little Caesars Spice Paks. The recalled products are small white packets that contain black pepper and other spices. They were available upon request to consumers at many Little Caesars stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The recalled Spice Paks were not used in making any Little Caesars food products. No illnesses have been reported to the Farmington Hills, Mich., company. For more information, consumers can call 800-722-3727.

C. H. Guenther & Son Inc. is recalling additional products, including certain code dates of Best Yet Season ‘n Bake Chicken; Food Club Beef Stew; Tops Pork Gravy; and Piggly Wiggly Season ‘n Bake Chicken. They were sold in grocery stores throughout the U.S. The company previously recalled a select variety of seasoning blends and marinade and gravy mixes that contain pepper. The San Antonio, Texas, company said it has not received any reports of illnesses linked to the recalled products. For more information, consumers can call 800-847-5608.
