Products recalled due to potential salmonella risk

The following products are being recalled because they could be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children and others with weakened immune systems:

MiDAS Foods International of Oak Park, Mich., is recalling certain containers of Instant Beef Soup dry mix and Instant Beef Stroganoff sauce mix.

The dry soup mix and dry sauce mix was not distributed for retail sale to consumers. This notice is to make consumers who may inadvertently come across a package of this product aware of the recall. The products were distributed to food service establishments in the states of Florida and Tennessee.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

Although the soup and sauce mixes are not directly available to the public, if you have obtained a box or package of Instant Beef Soup mix or box of Instant Beef Stroganoff Sauce mix affected by the recall, return it to the place you obtained it. Further information may be obtained by calling the manufacturer at 1-800-328-8632 Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EDT.
