LifeSync buys medical business from Motorola

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — LifeSync Holdings Inc. said Tuesday that it has purchased a number of medical patents from Motorola Inc.

LifeSync, which is based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., manufacturers and distributes a wireless device to monitor patient safety and hospital productivity. The company said it has purchased the Besson Patent Portfolio and other patents that allow wireless monitoring of patients from Motorola.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Shares of Motorola fell 29 cents to close at $8.10 Tuesday.
