Nemacolin to apply for Pa. resort gaming license
FARMINGTON, Pa. — Nemacolin Woodland Resort and Spa in southwestern Pennsylvania plans to apply for a resort gaming license.
The resort about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh plans to house the casino in a former Woodlands World outdoor store on Route 40, if the license is approved.
Nemacolin applied for a slots casino license in 2006, but dropped those plans because state gaming regulators wouldn’t relax rules restricting admission to customers and guests of the resort. Nemacolin says its casino operation will be managed by Isle of Capri Casinos Inc., of St. Louis, which runs 14 other casinos in the United States.
Nemacolin announced its plans a day after Mason-Dixon Resort & Casino says it would seek a resort casino license just south of Gettysburg.
