Company plans to build northern Wis. biofuel plant
PARK FALLS, Wis. — A company wants to build a $250 million biofuel plant in northern Wisconsin.
Flambeau River Biofuels says it wants to build the plant at an existing pulp and paper mill in Park Falls. The plant would convert 1,000 tons of biomass per day from bark, sawdust and wood into diesel fuel and wax for domestic markets as well as electricity, steam and heat for the adjacent Flambeau River Papers operation.
The plan could be fully operational by 2013.
