Bebe Stores 2Q sales comparison drops 22.5 percent
BRISBANE, Calif. — Apparel retailer Bebe Stores Inc. said Thursday that sales in stores open at least one year fell 22.5 percent in the second quarter.
Total sales for the three months ended Jan. 2 fell 23.1 percent to $135.5 million. That was less than the $152 million analysts polled by Thomson Reuters predicted.
Sales at stores open at least a year are a key measure of retailer performance because they measure growth at existing stores rather than from newly opened ones.
Year-to-date, sales in stores open at lest one year fell 24.1 percent while total sales fell 23 percent to $255.7 million.
