2 jobs lawsuits against Neb. egg plant dismissed

OMAHA, Neb. — Two lawsuits over hiring practices at a David City egg processing plant have been dismissed.

A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed the wrongful-termination cases against Henningsen Foods, at the request of all parties.

Attorneys say the issues were resolved out of court but declined to elaborate.

The lawsuits were filed in 2009 by two former Henningsen employees, Amy Schrader of Ulysses and Diane Morbach of Bellwood.

Both women said in court documents that Henningsen unjustly fired them. They also said non-management employees recruited workers who were in the country illegally and that the company was aware that Hispanic employees who weren’t authorized to work were using false identification.
