Dana Holding gets Chinese axle contract

MAUMEE, Ohio — Dana Holding Corp., a drive train parts maker with 22,000 employees in 26 countries, said Thursday that it will make pickup truck and SUV axles for Chinese automaker Beiqi Foton Motor Co.

The Ohio company, whose products are in light vehicles made by Ford, Toyota, General Motors, Chrysler, Hyundai and Nissan, will provide rear axle assemblies for Foton’s 2012 model year SUVs and pickups. Terms of the contract were not released.

Dana said it will manufacture and assemble the axles at its Fujian Spicer affiliate, located in Fuzhou, China.

Dana also makes parts for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and for off-road machinery.

Dana shares fell 33 cents, or 3.1 percent, to close at $10.21.
